Aldermaston Mill offers one of the few opportunities for day ticket fishing on the River Kennet. This is where the River Enbourne joins the River Kennet and it offer some excellent coarse fishing, especially for big barbel and chub. The famous lawn swims below the weir are popular spots to try.

Try swim feeder tactics with maggots on hot days when the water is clear and meat when the water is coloured. The upper swims has slower water and holds good numbers of carp, bream and roach. Trotted maggots, casters or bread work well.

This venue can get very busy in the summer and at weekends so get there early if you want a swim.
