Description

Twynersh Fishing Complex is an excellent 7 lake coarse fishing complex set in picturesque surroundings just outside Chertsey in Surrey

The gravel pit lakes were created in the early 70's as part of the M3 construction and have been landscaped to give a "natural" look and feel. The 7 lakes [ranging from 1-5 acres] vary in depth from 2ft-26ft making it them siutable for all styles of coarse fishing. The lakes at Twynersh hold some hefty specimens and also offer some excellent bagging sport. There is also a section of River Bourne that offer some classic small river fishing. The venue opens at 6.30am [5am at weekends/bank holidays] and closes at 9pm. Night fishing is available and juniors must be supervised by an adult.

Twynersh holds carp [to 40lb+], pike [to 34lb], tench [to 9lb 8oz], bream [to 13lb 8oz], perch [to 4lb] and roach and rudd to 2lb 12oz]. The River Bourne holds chub [to over 5lb], riach, dace, perch and bream.

Pit 1 offers easy access and fishing nearest to the carpark. Stuffed with tench and roach, the fish will feed right up in the water. Fish a waggler about 20 metres out, about 2-3ft deep using a banded pellet and feeding a few small pellets every minute or so. For bream, tench and roach try Pit 6 around the lilly pads. It stays cool and secluded even on the hottest of days. Loosefeed corn and pellets positively and fish slightly over depth. For the carp enthusiast, try Pit 3. Fish the pegs called Boat and Snags with a boilie for the chance of a decent fish. On the match lake most baits work well, particularly maggots, pellets, corn and luncheon meat.
